Page to Screen: I Am Legend


If you enjoy watching movies and reading books, you'll love our monthly From Page to Screen program! Many popular films got their starts as books before hitting the big screen. This Thursday, January 29th from 5:30-8:00PM we will be watching the film I Am Legend, based on the book by Robert Matheson. A short discussion concerning the adaptation of the film will follow the movie for those who are interested. If you would like more information or to check out a copy of the book, please stop by the front desk.

Bedtime Story Night

Children and their caregivers are welcome to join us for our monthly Bedtime Story Night on Monday, January 26th from 6:30-7:00 in the Annex. Listen to stories, lullabies, try a few yoga poses, and get ready for bed. Children are encouraged to attend in their pajamas and bring a pillow, blanket, or their favorite stuffed animal.

Teen Dinner and a Movie


Join us Tuesday, February 17th at 5:30 p.m. in the Library Annex for "Dinner and a Movie." We will be watching High School Musical 3, which is rated PG. The program is open for teens ages 11 to 18 who like pizza, a good movie and lots of fun! For mroe info call us at 422-2094 or stop by the library.

1/13 Story Hour

Theme: Snowmen
Book: Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner
Flannelboard: 5 Little Snowmen
Five little snowmen riding on a sled (hold up 5 fingers)
One fell off and bumped his head (tap head with hand)
Frosty called the doctor and the doctor said (make "phone" with thumb and pinky fingers)
"No more snowmen riding on the sled!" (shake head and point finger)
Sign Language: We reviewed the words mittens, hat, scarf, and boots from last week and added signs for snowflake, cold, ice, snow, penguin, and polar bear. Learn these signs here and here.
Craft: Make a snowman snow globe.

Kids' Movie Matinee Monday

Children 10 and under are invited to enjoy popcorn, juice, games, and fun as we watch Happy Feet.

Theme: Winter Weather
Book: Thomas' Snowsuit by Robert Munsch
Activity: Learn sign language for clothing such as hat, mittens, boots, and scarf.
Craft: Decorate a pair of mittens. Click here for instructions to try this at home.
